Morning Workouts

Lately I have been slacking and sleeping in.  I do still get my workouts in, but it's not the same.  I had been getting up at 4am, having something to drink, maybe a light breakfast and then doing my workout.  But as the weather got colder, I got wimpier and the covers are sooooooooooooooooooooooo nice to stay under.  The extra sleep is nice, but I find myself struggling later to get my workout done.  I can always find an excuse to not do it later in the day.  My days get busy providing me with plenty of reasons to workout "later".

But this morning I got up at my normal 4am.  Did my workout, including those 50 squats I am going to be feeling all day.  Since then I have managed my blog, facebook page, emails, watched the Daily Show, Colbert Report, walked the dogs, made a fire in the fireplace and as soon as I finish this post I will make breakfast for my husband and daughter.  When I sleep until 6 I get up in time to make breakfast and I would have less energy.

It works for me to get started earlier because I am lazy later.  I just want to sit and crochet or knit.  Maybe watch a movie. Getting my workout in early also gives me more energy throughout the day.  I'll try to remember this when my covers feel too warm to get out from under on future winter days.
