The upside of gout

yes, there is ONE positive thing to come out of this whole nightmare.  My diet is improving and I should be able to get off of this plateau and lose the rest of this weight.  So far this week I've had no problem sticking to a reduced diet because food scares the heck out of me right now.

The pain is better, not gone, but better.  I want it gone and to stay gone so I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that happens.  I have an intolerance to wheat but it's not in the same catergory.  I will sometimes risk a reaction for something tasty.  But that reaction and a gout flare up are very different things.  There is NOTHING tasty enough to have a flareup for.  Pain is incredibly motivational.

So in every dark horrible place, there is usually some small bit of light.  In this case, motivation is my light.
